【例句1】Those societies came out of the war with levels of enrollment that had been roughly constant at 3-5% of the relevant age groups during the decades before the war.
【分析】
生词：
enrollment n. 入学；注册
roughly    ad.大约；大致
 constant   a.  不变的；固定的
Relevant   a.  紧密相关的；切题的；适宜的
句法分析：
主干：Those societies came out of the war with levels of enrollment......of the relevant age groups
修饰enrollment的定语从句：that had been roughly constant at 3-5%  during the decades before the war.
主干部分里，those societies是主语，come out of谓语，the war宾语，with levels of enrollment状语，of the relevant age groups定语。
定语从句中，that是引导词，had been是谓语，roughly状语，constant at 3-5%为表语，during the decades before the war是时间状语。
翻译：
战争刚刚结束时，这些社会的适龄群体入学率为3%-5%，这是战前几十年基本恒定未变的水平。
【例句2】And the demand that rose in those societies for entry to higher educaition extended to groups and social classes that had not thought of attending a university before the war.
【分析】
生词：entry    n.进入
句法分析：
主干：And the demand for entry to higher educaition extended to groups and social classes
修饰demand的定语从句1：that rose in those societies
修饰groups and social classes的定语从句2：that had not thought of attending a university before the war
主干部分里，the demand是主语，for entry to higher education 定语修饰entry，extended to谓语，groups and social classes宾语。
定语从句1里，that引导词，rose谓语，in those societies地点状语。
定语从句2里，that引导词，had not thought of谓语，attending a univerisity宾语，during the war时间状语。
翻译：
这些社会中，人们对接受高等教育的需求越来越高，甚至蔓延到了站前从未想过上大学的群体和社会阶层。
【例句3】in many countries of Western Europe, the numbers of students in higher education doubled within five-year periods during the 1960s and doubled again in seven, eight, or 10years by the middle fo the 1970s.
【分析】
句法分析：
主干：the nunbers of students in higher education doubled and doubled again
地点状语：in many countries of Western Europe
时间状语：within five-year periods during the 1960s
时间状语：in seven, eight, or 10years by the middle fo the 1970s.
主干部分：the numbers是主语，of students in higher education是定语，修饰the numbers；doubled and doubled again并列的两个谓语。
翻译：
在许多西欧国家，高校学生人数在20世纪60年代每5年便翻一番，到70年代中期，这一人数在7、8或者10年内又翻了一番。
