各位同学大家好，欢迎大家来到我们的考研英语小课堂，今天小黎老师仍然会带领大家一起进行长难句能力的训练。
首先我们对于长难句的处理需要秉承着一个目标，就是化长为短、化繁为简。 因此处理长难句的第一步就是我们需要把句子中的主干拎出来，理解句子的核心含义；第二步则为找到句子中的从句或者修饰成分进行识别。接下来老师就以2014年阅读text 4的试卷例句为例，为大家进行讲解。
例句：In 2010, leading congressional Democrats and Republicans sent letters to the AAAS asking that it identify actions that could be taken by “federal, state and local governments, universities, foundations, educators, individual benefactors and others” to “maintain national excellence in humanities and social scientific scholarship and education.”（2014年英语一text4）
1.核心主干： 本句的核心主干为：In 2010, leading congressional Democrats and Republicans sent letters to the AAAS；
2. asking that it identify actions  这部分为伴随状语；that为宾语从句
3.that could be taken by “federal, state and local governments, universities, foundations, educators, individual benefactors and others” to “maintain national excellence in humanities and social scientific scholarship and education.” .为that引导的定语从句，修饰前面的actions，由于定语从句较长，因此在翻译时可采取顺译的翻译方法；其中to “maintain national excellence in humanities and social scientific scholarship and education.为目的状语
第三步为在把每个部分的结构都识别出来之后把每个部分进行翻译
1.核心主干： 本句的核心主干为：In 2010, leading congressional Democrats and Republicans sent letters to the AAAS；2010年，主要的国会民主党人和共和党人致信美国科学促进会
2. asking that it identify actions  这部分为伴随状语；that为宾语从句:要求它确定一系列举措
3.that could be taken by “federal, state and local governments, universities, foundations, educators, individual benefactors and others” to “maintain national excellence in humanities and social scientific scholarship and education.” 这些举措可以被联邦、州和地方政府、大学、基金会、教育工作者、个人捐助者和其他人”所采取，以“保持国家在人文和科学领域、社会科学奖学金和教育上的卓越表现”。
第四步则根据每个部分之间的关系进行句子的整合，这个过程需要确定是否有些部分需要调整语序
1为主干，2为伴随状语可保留原语序 3为修饰句子的定语从句，长度较长，后置翻译，因此不需要调整语序
