每位同学在做试题的时候，应该都会有一个感触：不管是什么题型，完形填空也好，阅读也罢，最后都跟长难句解析有关系。所以，在考研英语复习的过程中，长难句解析能力是十分重要的。接下来，我们结合2017年英语二的试题来复习一下长难句的知识点。
【例句1】A different and not mutually exclusive prediction holds that the future will be a wasteland of a different sort, one characterized by purposelessness: Without jobs to give their lives meaning, people will simply become lazy and depressed.（2017英语二 完形填空）
【解析】该句是由冒号连接起来的两个分句，其中冒号之后的分句是对前一句中purposelessness的解释说明。
分句1中prediction是主语，a different and not mutually exclusive是形容词短语做定语，修饰主语prediction；holds是谓语动词；that引导的从句为宾语从句。在宾语从句中，the future是主语，will be是系动词，a wasteland of a different sort是表语；逗号之后的名词短语one characterized by purposelessness是同位语，用来解释a wasteland。分句2 中，句首的without jobs to give their lives meaning是条件状语，people是主语，will simply become是系动词，lazy and depressed是表语。
【译文】另外一种与其不同但并不矛盾的语言认为，未来会是另一种荒芜之地，一个以“漫无目的”为特征的荒芜之地：没有了工作赋予生活以意义，人们只会变得懒惰且消沉。
【例句2】In it, a mother is asked to interact with her child in a normal way before putting on a blank expression and not giving them any visual social feedback: The child becomes increasingly distressed as she tries to capture her mother’s attention.
【解析】本句话是由冒号连接的两个并列分句构成。分句1中，a mother是主语，is asked to interact with是谓语，her child是宾语，in a normal way是状语， before putting on a blank expression and not giving them any visual social feedback是时间状语。分句2中，the child是主语，becomes是系动词，increasingly distressed是表语，as she tries to capture her mother’s attention是时间状语从句。
【译文】在实验中，母亲被要求先以正常方式与孩子交流，之后摆出一副面无表情的神情并且不给孩子任何视觉上的社交反馈；孩子在试图吸引母亲注意力的过程中变得越来越苦恼。
【例句3】On the other hand, Tronick himself is concerned that the worries about kids’ use of screens are born out of an “oppressive ideology that demands that parents should always ‘be interacting” with their children: “It’s based on a somewhat fantasized, very white, very upper-middle-class ideology that says if you’re failing to expose your child to 30,000 words you are neglecting them.”
【解析】本句由冒号连接两个并列分句构成。分句1中，on the other hand是转折副词，Tronick himself is concerned是句子主干，that the worries about kids’ use of screens are born out of an “oppressive ideology是宾语从句，that demands that parents should always be interacting” with their children是定语从句，修饰名词oppressive ideology。分句2中，It是主语，is based on是谓语部分，a somewhat fantasized, very white, very upper-middle-class ideology是宾语，that if you’re failing to expose your child to 30,000 words you are neglecting them是定语从句，修饰名词ideology。
