　　撤离： abandon a position撤离阵地
　　Desert强调违背誓言，责任和义务
　　遗弃：never desert a friend in need.绝不要抛弃有困难的朋友。
　　Quit强调突然或故意的放弃
　　离开、离弃: if I don’t get a pay rise I’ll quit.若不给加薪我就辞职。
　　停止: my father has quit smoking.我父亲已经戒烟了。
　　Forsake强调感情上的依恋
　　背叛：forsake one’s wife unfeelingly无情的背叛妻子
　　放弃、抛弃: forsake one’s principles放弃原则 forsake darkness for light弃暗投明 forsake bad habits抛弃坏的习惯
　　Discard强调抛弃放弃无用的事物
