       众所周知，英语长难句贯穿于考研英语试卷的各个题型之中，这些长难句由于单词多，成分复杂，语序颠倒或成分省略，往往对考生具有很大的杀伤力，很多考生反映读来读去，始终不能理解长难句的意思，以至于影响后面的解题效果。正所谓“知己知彼，百战百胜”，要应对长难句，就要了解其特点。为此，中公考研辅导老师将悉心总结出的考研英语长难句的特点呈现出来，希望对各位考生有所帮助。
　　一、句长字多
　　例一：Priestly explains how the deep blue color of the assistant’s sweater descended over years from fashion shows to department stores and to the bargain bin in which the poor girl doubtless found her garment. (35 words)(2013-阅读1)
　　例二：Progress in both areas is undoubtedly necessary for the social, political and intellectual development of these and all other societies; however, the conventional view that education should be one of the very highest priorities for promoting rapid economic development in poor countries is wrong. (45 words)(2009-阅读3)
　　上面这两个例子，都是长难句。如果考生不懂语法，不会分析，单单是逐字阅读，即使很多遍，浪费大量时间，也不一定能够深入理解句子意思，准备解答问题。
　　二、成分复杂
　　1.各种从句错综交替
　　例三：When a new movement in art attains a certain fashion, it is advisable to find out what its advocates are aiming at, for ,however far fetched and unreasonable their principles may seem today, it is possible that in years to come they may be regarded as normal. (2000-阅读3)
　　这个长难句，包含when引导的时间状语从句，it作形式主语结构，what引导的名词性从句，for连接的并列平行结构，however引导的让步状语从句以及that引导的主语从句。
　　例四：This alone demonstrates that the television business is not an easy world to survive in, a fact underlined by statistics that show that out of eighty European television networks, no less than 50% took a loss in 1989.(2005-英译汉)
　　第一个that后引导了一个宾语从句;to survive ... in 1989是一个后置定语，其中还有一个定语从句，第二个that引导此定语从句;接着第三个that引导宾语从句。
　　2.分隔现象
　　例五：A sacred place of peace, however crude it may be, is a distinctly human need, as opposed to shelter, which is a distinctly animal need.(2013-英译汉)
　　主语A sacred place of peace与谓语部分is a distinctly animal need被however引导的让步状语从句分隔开，分割部分作主句的补充说明。
